More than just a race

Inspired by the less-fuss, more-fun feel of past trail runs like Beaver Chase, Forest Gumpers was born from a desire to bring accessible, enjoyable trail races to Ottawa. We cultivate an informal, fun run atmosphere where friendly competition is welcome, but the emphasis is always on the experience, connecting with nature, and building lasting friendships. It's competitive if you like, but always a fun run at heart.

Race Director

We are a dedicated team lead by Lt. Joe Gumper, our Race Director and one-third of the team.

1st Officer

We are passionate about what we do and Bubba Dave Gumper is one of our Founders. Our Chef de Mission is responsible for logistics and route. Look for him on the trail.

2nd Officer

It all began with a simple idea fueled by a deep passion. Meet Fiona Gumper. The third of our trio, she is our CAO, CPO, CFO, CEO, CIO. WM and QC. So, basically, she is a true Gumper. Look for her at the race sign in and finish.
